Newly-published books

I love the photography as much as the patterns in Louisa Harding's new book, Shawls, Wraps and Scarves. Deep down, I daydream of being like one of these enigmatic models, wafting around a windswept wilderness, draped in stunning knitwear. Of course, I'd be wearing jeans and a warm coat instead of a floaty dress, which might ruin the effect somewhat.

Harry Potter Knitting Magic is here! As well as the expected scarves in house colors and Mrs Weasley's Christmas jumpers, there are many other designs. My favorite is the blue Beauxbatons' capelet (though realistically I'm more likely to wear the school cardigan).

The little sheep on the cover of 3D Granny Squares has me wanting to throw aside my current project and pick up a crochet hook. It just looks so tactile! And it's a sheep! This, for me, would make baby blanket perfection.
